Hello! I am Melissa's friend who is interested in farming and nutrition... she told me that she mentioned me to you so hopefully this post doesn't come as a surprise! The house hunt sounds very exciting and fun... probably stressful but I can only imagine the anticipation of having your own plot of land to grow your own crops! I am hoping to be in that area on a road trip with a friend some time in the end of the summer so maybe (if all goes well) I could see or talk to you about some of the things you did with the land or just some experiences you had. I am hoping to get out on some farms on the west coast this summer and talk to farmers, get tours, whatever! Just get my foot in the door and see if this growing interest has potential for a passion. Good luck with everything!!

I too am finding food/garden blogging a challenge this winter (well, that and I'm just swamped at work). I keep thinking I need to write something about hibernation -- especially here in Livingston. There are so many writers, and we all count on winter to get work done -- it's cold, the wind is blowing 40 mph, and what else is there to do?

Wow! I for one appreciate you laying your soul out for everyone to see. It's such a great story since you've found a place a peace. (Not to mention the wonderful EZ)

I've never had the baby monster, but I know kids are in our future, so I've had pretty much the exact same fears as you. It gives me hope to know there can be peace on the other side of that fear.

Good luck baby-ing. Enjoy the practice :D

You'll figure it out as you go along. Keep trying new things. One thing I would suggest, looking back over the years, is plant apple trees. I wish I had planted ours when we first moved here. They would have almost two decades of growth and be producing copious bushels of apples (and pears - we can grow those too). But I didn't plant until two years ago which means I have some waiting to do... :}
